San Diego, CA. – Quartus Engineering employees have created a committee to promote STEM opportunities in economically disadvantaged communities through educational outreach. The new STEM Outreach Committee is dedicated to serving underrepresented students and ensuring STEM education is accessible to all. During the 2020/2021 school year, Quartusonians have partnered with a San Diego local 8th grade classroom at Lemon Grove Academy Middle School for several virtual volunteer sessions.
Last semester, the STEM Committee sponsored build-your-own telescope kits for 120 students and provided a lesson to complement their Space curriculum. Next on the agenda is a DIY “robot-hand” activity.
