THERMAL ANALYSIS
Improve Your Cooling Efficiency and Design
Many electronic devices generate a lot of heat in a small volume. Analysis of a device's cooling capability can be used to help avoid overheating of components and to improve cooling efficiency.
Prevent Thermal Problems
Analyzing the cooling of complicated structures due to convection, conduction and radiation can be a very difficult task. Many factors may be important such as:

Using NX I-DEAS™ ESC software in conjunction with flow testing and detailed hand calculations, Quartus engineers can help you by performing detailed thermal or flow analysis and identify potential design problems. This can help you solve a variety of thermal problems, or head them off before they occur.
Take Advantage of our Experience
Quartus engineers have extensive experience in the use of ESC as well as other thermal analysis products. We have experience solving thermal problems in a variety of areas including:

Powerful Simulation Technology
Thermal problems in mechanical and electronic systems are often difficult to detect and resolve because of the complex effects of convection or radiation. TMG provides a broad range of tools to model these effects, and leading-edge simulation technology to get fast and accurate results.
Use Both Analysis and Testing Capabilities
Quartus uses ESC, a powerful program that combines a 3-D CFD solver with a finite difference thermal solver, to accurately model airflow and cooling within an enclosure. Quartus also has access to flow test equipment that allows the actual flow in existing hardware to be measured. This allows computer models to be correlated to experimental data, and may be used to measure actual flow parameters for existing products.
Quartus can also teach customers how to use the ESC software.
