NASTRAN DMAP Alters

The following DMAP alters are provided as-is and without warranty. We have used the alters successfully for our internal use. However, the alters have not been "bullet-proofed" to work for all models and all situations. Use at your own risk!

Classic Craig-Bampton Matrices for Upstream Superelements

This alter forms the superelement A-set matrices using the "classic" Craig-Bampton modal synthesis format. The diagonal terms of the Kqq matrix are the eigenvalues, and the Mqq matrix is an identity matrix. The alter also eliminates adding small nonzero stiffness values to "unused" Q-set DOF. For some cases, this results in significant performance improvement compared to standard MSC.NASTRAN operations.
