Quartus specializes in producing high end, optical and electro-mechanical assemblies, in prototype to low rate production quantities, as well as optical alignment and integration services. Quartus’ ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facility, with clean room production areas (certified to ISO 14644-1:2000, ISO 7), is dedicated to production builds, alignment, and verification testing. We continue to invest into our prototyping and production facility and have increased in-house manufacturing and test capability.  Key optical systems production and test equipment include:

Quartus has the infrastructure and capacity to support prototyping efforts along with limited production capacity runs (e.g., 100+ complete units). Our prototype and production capacity include:

  • Two Class 10,000 clean rooms dedicated to Optical Systems assembly, integration and production
  • Incoming Inspection
  • Metrology Lab – Temperature and contaminant controlled
  • Dedicated Assembly and Alignment Stations
  • Engineering Laboratory

Further, we maintain a pre-qualified local supplier base to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of hardware components along with reduced risk. Key supplier capabilities include:

We have developed and refined our optical systems assembly and integration competency to meet the most demanding requirements in the photonics industry. These competencies can be equally applied for prototype and production requirements. Key competencies include:

  • Low distortion, low stress optic mounting
  • System precision alignment
  • Optical component and system level metrology
  • Custom design of novel alignment and performance characterization fixtures/tooling
  • Experience working with exotic materials for optical applications, e.g. low expansion glasses, Invar, carbon fiber composites
  • Utilization of in-house, high end metrology equipment, e.g. Zeiss Contura CMM, Zygo QPZ Phase Shifting Interferometer
  • Management of manufacturing flow to increase efficiency and maintain high quality standards and documentation
